GLENCOE BEACH

Welcome to your home for sun, sand, and summer fun! Glencoe Beach is the ultimate spot for families, friends, and groups to relax and play. Our lifeguards are on duty throughout the summer to ensure a safe and wonderful visit for everyone. 

Only season passholders and their guests may visit on weekends (Saturday-Sunday), holidays (Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day), and before 12 PM on weekdays (Monday-Friday).

Daily admission may be purchased at the beach after 12 PM on weekdays.

  • During the preseason, lifeguards are on duty weekends, 10 AM to 8 PM 
  • The Paul & Ada Safran Sprayground water is on during operating hours 
  • Lockers, restrooms, and showers are available at the Beach House during operating hours
  • Paddleboard, kayak, sailboat, chairs, and umbrellas are available to rent at the Beach House during operating hours
  • The Trellis and sun shelters are available to rent 
  • Volleyball courts and complimentary volleyballs are available at the Beach House
  • Complimentary Beach Cart service is available during operating hours
  • Pets are not allowed on Glencoe Beach until September 15, 2026.

2026 Beach Season Operating Hours

Glencoe Beach is the perfect destination for Lake Michigan fun. During the summer season, admission is required to access the beach when lifeguards are on duty. The beach season starts Memorial Day weekend and ends on Labor Day.

Children under age 3 are free.

Daily admission may be purchased after 12 PM on weekdays at the beach. Admission is $12 per person for Glencoe residents and $24 per person for all others; children under age 3 are free.

Street parking around Lakefront Park is free and available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Please follow all posted signs and park in designated spots, as fines are doubled in the beach area. Parking rules have changed; please follow the posted signs.

Additional parking is available at the Metra commuter lot near Park Avenue and Green Bay Road. Parking at the Metra lot is free after 10 AM. View map here

Beach Amenities
Available Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend
  • Lifeguards are on duty daily during regular season and on weekends only during preseason and postseason.
  • The water spray features are available daily beginning at 10 AM during the operating season.
  • Lockers, restrooms, and showers, along with snacks, beach amenities (including kayaks, paddleboards, chairs, and umbrellas), and first aid, are available at the Safran Beach House during operating hours. 
  • Complimentary beach cart service is available 10 AM-5 PM.
  • Volleyball courts are available for use.

Visit the Adda and Paul Safran Beach House to access bathrooms, medical assistance, snacks, and beach equipment. Sun shelters, paddleboards, kayaks, sailboats, umbrellas and chairs are available. The beach house is closed during the fall, winter, and spring months.

The sprayground features interactive water play pieces, slides, swings, and playground fun. The water features are only available during regular beach operating hours.

Lifeguards are on duty when the beach is open. Reminder: If the water is not protected by lifeguards, enter at your own risk. The minimum age to enter the beach area alone is 13 years of age. To enter the water, while unguarded, patrons must be at least 16 years of age, per the Illinois Department of Public Health. Persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other responsible person at least 16 years of age while entering the water. Swimming alone is not recommended.

A complimentary beach cart is available from 10 AM-5 PM for patrons needing assistance to access the beach.

Volleyball courts and complimentary volleyball rentals are available during the beach season's regular operating hours.

Grills and fires are not allowed in Lakefront Park.

Picnics requiring fires shall be held only in sun shelter areas where grills or pits have been provided for that purpose and upon issuance of a Permit by the District. Learn more 

At this time, we are not accepting outside groups to visit the beach during the summer season.
